New Obama Ad — 1982

The New York Times reports this morning that:

Senator Barack Obama will intensify his assault against Senator John McCain, with new television advertisements and more forceful attacks by the candidate and surrogates beginning Friday morning, as he confronts an invigorated Republican presidential ticket and increasing nervousness in the Democratic ranks.

This ad is what they mean by “intensify his assault against Senator John McCain.” Just how stupid is the Obama ad director anyway?

The ad is a 30 second spot.

Hey, is that an old Televideo terminal? They made microcomputers that I used in 1982.

The message is, McCain is old and he is too old to change. Nothing in there about what Obama’s plans for MC improvements are. It seems to me that what Obama campaign is stuck on is McCain is more of the same Bush economic, social and defense policies. McCain is aggressively moving away from Bush policies. The more he highlights his maverick image and the times he has parted with Bush, the harder it is going to be for Obama to make that case. The Palin pick visually defies that case.

Love the music. Gosh, it made me really like McCain. He’s cool. That was the intent, right?

This is terrible ad. It has no policy message. The message is the McCain is old- subliminal message of ageism- and there are a lot of elderly people who will watch this and be offended even if they know how to use email or the internet.
I thought Obama was the candidate of change but now he is going negative. He is now for 527’s. What a pandering hypocrite!

as long as he call it the internet instead of the internets I could care less if he know how to use it.

Jangles, I think you’re right. It’s getting harder for Obama to make that case.

By the way, since Obama said the other day that he’s giving the go ahead for 527’s to attack McCain, isn’t that some sort of implicit connection and communication with them, and isn’t that a violation? Just wondering.

Defenders of Wildlife has an ad coming out today in Ohio that’s anti-Palin. I haven’t seen any from MoveOn. A couple from unions.

If Obama is communicating with 527 groups, yes that’s a violation of electoral law.

Who cares? Do we want the president to be sending prayer email chains to his BFF’s all day? Do you think the Pres has time to sit and read through all the email?

Obama: fighting back like the junior high kid who has been waging a fantasy war in his head against a bully who barely knows the kid is alive.

Obama Campaign Plans to get MO

Oh the drama, oh the huge manatee.

It is all over the blogs this evening that McCain is email savvy and actually enjoys reading his email messages with this wife Cindy who sends responses for him. McCain is unable to use a keyboard because of his injuries from POW torture. OMG—didn’t the Obama camp know that; do they know nothing about their opponent or are they just especially cruel in their “getting aggressive” new campaign.

Wow, Jangles, talk about a screw up.
