Nicaraguan President Daniel Ortega today canceled his trip to Asunción, Paraguay for the inauguration of Fernando Lugo on Sunday in the wake of serious allegations that he is a serial rapist. It’s not just rape that he stands accused of, Ortega stands accused of raping his step daughter Zoilamérica Narváez over a period of twenty years.
In the face of these revelations, the incoming Paraguayan Foreign Minister and Women’s Affairs Minister led a last minute campaign to prevent Ortega from preventing the inauguration.
