Well, I am going to assume that Venezuela’s President is being candid but in any event he comes off looking ridiculous. In this clip, he recounts how he learned that Ingrid Betancourt had been freed — a construction worker yelled it out to him. The news stopped him cold he said. Perhaps Chávez might consider improving his intelligence services because such news really should come from within his Administration, not from a construction worker who yelled it out to him. In other news from Venezuela, Chávez raised the pay of all members of Venezuela’s Armed Forces by 30% today.
