GOP Ad on the Gas Tax Holiday

They are just warming up. With these ads, the GOP will paint Obama as out of touch. It’s not hard to do.

GOP Ad on Obama: Empty Rhetoric

This is ad put out today by the Republican National Committee to run in selected states across the country. And it doesn’t even bring up the Reverend Wright nor William Ayers. The 527s will do that hit job. This is a body blow. The knockout punches are yet to come but they will come.

Clinton Ad in West Virginia

The Clinton campaign released a new ad today for West Virginia. And a new poll by ARI shows 66% to 23% lead over Obama in West Virginia but that margin is not really the story. While 13% of likely West Virginia Democratic voters will not support Senator Clinton no matter what, 45% of likely West Virginia Democratic voters will not support Senator Obama. I have been arguing for some time that Clinton supporters will desert the Democratic Party in droves if Obama is the nominee and this is further proof of that fact. President Clinton won West Virginia twice and had Gore carried West Virginia, Florida would not have mattered. Kerry lost West Virginia by an even wider margin than Gore. Clinton will carry West Virginia for the Democratic Party, Obama will not.

Also send Hillary a Happy Mother’s Day Note.

The Good of the Party?

It’s called politics and it may come as surprise to the Obama kool-aid camp directors but Senator Obama’s negatives are already well-known and while they may not prove decisive in the Democratic race, they most certainly will in the general. That’s why we are still in this race- to stave off an electoral defeat of historic proportions. It is Obama’s candidacy that is not good for the party, not Senator Clinton’s staying in the race. We are not here just for show. We are in this to win and stave off defeat in November and save the Democratic from its own worst enemy, itself.

Political Reprecussions of Cyclone Nargis
I have been wanting to provide more coverage of the events in Burma which is near and dear to my heart but I have been too distracted from writing more. I am not sure if the referendum on the new constitution originally scheduled for tomorrow, Saturday May 10th, has been postponed or not.
